Overview

AWS is seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our State and Local Government business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. You will help shape and deliver strategy to build broad use of AWS computing, ML, and AI web services (e.g., AWS EC2, S3, RDS, Bedrock) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers. Responsibilities include owning technical engagements, defining architectures, responding to RFPs, developing AWS expertise, and being a security subject matter expert for customer applications and services.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects.
• Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
• Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications are built on the AWS platform.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications/services.
• Provide technical design and thought leadership to customers; work with a world class sales and business development team.
• Lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community.
• Collaborate with and educate other engineers and architects across enterprise architectures.

Qualifications

• Technical presentation experience – white board, small and large group presentations.
• Technical – Web Services development/deployment experience, cloud computing.
• Operational – Web site/services operations, management, and security.
• Ability to travel 30%.
• Experience with one of the following programming languages: Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C++.
• Experience with two or more of the following: networking fundamentals, security, storage or databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, or Windows).
• Experience implementing a cloud-based technology solution.
• Experience in Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOps.
