Overview
The Warehouse Specialist receives, stores, records, and packs equipment, materials, and supplies for international shipment.
Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Warehouse Specialist: $44K-$46K. Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Responsibilities
- Receive, store, and issue equipment, materials, supplies, or tools, and compile stock records of items in stockrooms and warehouses.
- Count, sort, or weigh incoming articles to verify receipt of items with purchase order.
- Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications. Pack articles in tri-walls/pallets, on floor or on racks, according to identifying information, such as style, size, or type of material.
- Fill orders or issues supplies from stock.
- Prepare periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock.
- Prepare Supply Request forms for warehouse packing, banding and labeling materials.
- Compile reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
- Mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles as needed.
- Perform manual tasks including staging, transporting, packing/unpacking items, marking items, and cleaning and maintaining supplies, tools, equipment, and facilities to maintain compliance with safety regulations.
- Operate government-owned vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks daily to include preventative maintenance service and walk around safety inspections.
- Comply with all Warehouse Standard Operating Procedures including Receiving, Shipping, Transportation, and Safety.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Warehouse Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities required:
- May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Inventory Management: Proficiency in maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular audits, and implementing efficient tracking systems.
- Logistics and Supply Chain: Understanding of logistics principles, including shipping, receiving, and distribution processes. Familiarity with supply chain management concepts and best practices.
- Material Handling: Experience in safely and effectively operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively organize and arrange stock within the warehouse, optimizing space utilization and facilitating efficient retrieval and replenishment processes.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking, packing, and shipping. Ability to identify discrepancies, perform quality checks, and maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software. Familiarity with barcode scanning technology and experience in generating reports and analyzing data.
- Requires High School diploma or equivalent and one to two years of related experience.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
