Overview

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Warehouse Manager will support the Director of Manufacturing by managing and driving all warehousing activities in support of the overall plant operation. Management of warehouse activities includes ensuring the receipt, coordination, sanitary transport, and safety of goods are being processed through the facility, including timely receipt and dispatch of orders in proper quantities to appropriate destinations.

The Manager will supervise functions such as receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping or transporting. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate flow of products from receipt from suppliers to delivery to manufacturing, and from finished goods receipt to shipping to distribution centers.

Detailed Responsibilities/Duties

1. Maintain a safe work environment in the warehouse at all times.
2. Ensure all safety requirements are followed.
3. Lead, coach, and train warehouse personnel responsible for receiving, storing, counting, retrieving, and transporting inventory to support manufacturing and distribution.
4. Provide planning, direction, and coordination for all warehouse activities, optimizing use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities.
5. Develop work practices, SOPs, and work instructions to increase performance, maintain inventory accuracy, optimize handling, improve material flow, and space utilization.
6. Establish clear performance requirements and measure personnel performance, supporting their development.
7. Ensure warehouse operations comply with cGMP requirements.
8. Oversee receiving and shipping activities for accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
9. Work with Quality and Purchasing to handle non-conforming materials and products, including supplier interactions.
10. Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and distribution to process receipts, inspections, transfers, and returns.
11. Ensure all inventory transactions are electronically recorded promptly for accurate perpetual inventory.
12. Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts to ensure accurate counts and financial valuation.
13. Implement and train personnel on warehouse systems and improvements, analyzing workflows and layout for efficiency.
14. Provide expertise on warehouse management, storage, inventory practices, and WMS systems.
15. Lead, coach, and empower team members to achieve key performance goals.
16. Maintain overall safety, cleanliness, security, and organization of the warehouse.
17. Participate in safety planning and protection activities.
18. Recommend and implement projects for inventory management, tracking, and control.
19. Determine work procedures, prepare schedules, and expedite workflows.
20. Apply continuous improvement, 5S, and lean principles to enhance department and systems.
21. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly manage the Inventory and Process Control and Warehouse Supervisor. Indirectly responsible for a team of approximately 50 warehouse personnel.

Education

• Bachelor's degree preferred; candidates with 4 additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a cGMP environment.
• Experience with Oracle WMS.
