Overview

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist I to support our client’s medical facility in Pasadena, CA 91106. This is a 3+ month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Pay and Schedule

Base pay range: $20.00/hr - $27.00/hr

Pay Rate: $20 - $27/hr on W-2

Shift: Day shift / Pacific time

Duration: 3+ months

*Pay rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
• Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
• Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results.
• Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal.
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
• Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
• Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.

Job Requirements

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Strong customer focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients; ability to adapt to change.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
