Overview

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Waukegan, IL. This is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Location: Waukegan, IL (will float to Naperville, Merrionette Park, Palos Park, Mokena, Chicago, Palos Heights, Tinley Park, Waukegan, Evanston, Oak Brook, Munster, IN, Chicago Heights)

Duration: 3 Months+

Pay rate: $21.00/hr - $22.00/hr (base pay range). Salary is determined by experience and licenses/certifications. Pay may vary; discuss with your recruiter for specifics.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM; Wednesday 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain clearly and courteously the venipuncture process and other specimen collection activities as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand physicians\' orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to required temperatures and appropriate storage.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of phlebotomy experience is required.
