Phlebotomist Position in Manhattan!
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomist with over 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. The ideal candidate will be proficient with straight needles, reliable, punctual, and possess strong communication and excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate, and update patient information.
- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
- Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order.
- Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport and store them at the required temperature.
- Place samples in the appropriate collection container/tube, accurately label them, and follow different procedures as outlined by protocol to maintain specimen integrity for transport.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
- Bilingual in Spanish
Work Environment
The position is based in a new Patient Service Center (PSC) in Chelsea, which is currently in the process of opening. The worksite will accommodate two staff members, with an expected daily patient load of 30-50, potentially up to 60. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with work required every other Saturday from 8am-3pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00/hr.
