The Jefferson Hotel, a historic luxury property in Richmond, VA, is seeking a professional, dependable, and guest-focused individual to join our team as an Overnight Bell Attendant. This full-time overnight role is ideal for someone who thrives in a luxury hospitality environment, enjoys assisting guests with warmth and efficiency, and takes pride in providing seamless support to multiple hotel departments.

Hours: Primary schedule is between 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, including weekends and holidays.

Key Requirements
  • Availability: Must be able to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience: Previous hospitality, guest service, or customer-facing role preferred. Hotel or luxury service experience a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational ability, and attention to detail are essential.

Basic Functions & Scope
  • Serve as the first point of contact for late-arriving or early-departing guests, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
  • Assist guests with luggage handling, delivery, and storage.
  • Provide hotel information, directions, and support for guest inquiries.
  • Monitor guest arrivals and departures to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Support other departments as needed overnight, including valet services and room service delivery.
  • Maintain awareness of hotel safety and security procedures during overnight hours.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure, assisting with luggage and offering directions as needed.
  • Safely transport luggage and personal items to and from guest rooms.
  • Assist valet team by parking, retrieving, or organizing guest vehicles when required.
  • Support room service team with delivery of food and beverage orders during overnight hours.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness in lobby and bell stand areas.
  • Communicate clearly with front desk, valet, and room service teams to ensure seamless service.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Uphold all hotel standards for safety, security, and guest service.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred; luxury hotel experience a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a polished, guest-focused approach.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; must be comfortable with frequent standing and walking.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and behavior.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record preferred (for valet assistance).
