About the location
Sleek urban retreat in the Pacific Northwest. Seattle offers snow-capped mountain peaks, deep-blue waters and evergreen forests. The hotel is in the heart of downtown Seattle, near the Seattle Art Museum, Pike Place Market and Elliott Bay. Goldfinch Tavern offers local flavors from Pacific Northwest chefs. Four Seasons Hotel Seattle is looking for a Safety and Security Officer who shares our passion for excellence and provides great service to our internal and external guests. This position reports to the Security Manager. U.S. work authorization is required.

Key Elements of the Job
- Assist hotel team with the protection of guests, patrons and associates; property, building and grounds. Enforce hotel rules, regulations and policies, as well as department rules and standards.
- Promote safety awareness and enforcement to reduce accidents and loss; complete safety inspections and provide training as required.
- Respond to all emergency calls; assist in the Fire Command center when needed. Understand fire/life safety systems and emergency procedures.
- Patrol the building, identify and correct safety, security, and fire hazards. Be able to walk/run up stairs carrying a fire extinguisher.
- Implement all security and safety policies and procedures.
- Share duties in the Operations Center with emergency and department phone monitoring, CCTV monitoring, alarm monitoring, access control and key management.
- Respond appropriately in hotel emergencies and safety situations.
- Assist with Workers’ Compensation, complete reports, and maintain health and safety records.
- Write comprehensive incident reports, conduct investigations, maintain records, and support general liability reporting; promote loss prevention through training and awareness.
- Present a friendly, professional image and provide personalized service to occupants, workers and neighbors.
- Act as liaison with law enforcement, city and federal agencies and hotel associations.
- Respond to non-emergency security calls, minor injuries, disputes and complex issues; mediate when needed.
- Contain and transport items per Blood Borne Pathogen program and training.
- Provide basic security services, key control, guest room lock issues, safe malfunctions and lockouts.
- Participate in and support the hotel Fire Plan and Fire and Emergency Response readiness.
- Work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors; manage lost and found items and conduct bag checks as required.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- At least 1 year of security experience, preferably in hotels
- High School diploma; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Ethical approach to outcomes; strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Safe, prudent and organized work manner
- Flexible schedule; ability to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, evenings and overnight shifts
- English language proficiency (reading, writing and speaking)
- Ability to multi-task in a high-volume, demanding environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and guest-handling abilities

Compensation: $26.22/hour, plus overnight shift premium
