Role Purpose Statement

The Overnight Operations Manager at LSG Sky Chefs is crucial in leading and enhancing daily production and service delivery. This role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while driving performance that meets company standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with different teams to achieve operational targets, manage resources effectively, and maintain customer satisfaction and business growth.

Main Accountabilities

Operational Management

  • Plan, organize, and manage departmental operations, focusing on labor hours, shift schedules, productivity, quality, and safety.

  • Ensure accurate and timely production of food, equipment, and catering for flights.

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of customer-specific goods.

  • Participate in daily operations briefings for cross-functional alignment.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes.

Cost and Resource Control

  • Manage departmental costs effectively within budget through strategic planning.

  • Optimize the use of manpower, technical resources, and materials.

  • Provide data to assist in developing annual business plans and budgets.

  • Implement and control the cost budget; take corrective actions as necessary.

Quality, Compliance, and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications and regulatory standards.

  • Address customer quality concerns and implement corrective measures.

  • Support company initiatives like Global Quality Standards, HACCP, and safety programs.

Leadership and People Development

  • Organize and staff the department to meet operational goals.

  • Inspire and guide team members in accordance with HR policies.

  • Participate in coaching initiatives to enhance team capabilities.

  • Foster positive relationships with internal teams and customers.

  • Exemplify LSG Sky Chefs' core values and leadership principles.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, production, logistics, or food manufacturing.

  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role in a high-volume, regulated environment.

  • Experience in airline catering or food production preferred.

  • Proven track record in budget management and continuous improvement.

  • Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
