Job Description
Harford Community College is seeking workforce and continuing education Phlebotomy Instructors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teach evening classes
- In-classroom/lab instruction
- Responsible for updating curriculum as needed, including assignments, PowerPoints, LMS course content, quizzes, and exams
- Complete all college-mandated training, as assigned
Responsibilities also include instructing students using standardized curriculum, reviewing lesson plans, preparing for class instruction, grading and electronically recording assignments, promoting student retention, supporting externship activities as applicable, and performing related work as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
Required Experience:
- Experience teaching adult learners
- Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Three (3) years of experience working as a Phlebotomy Technician
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Possess excellent teaching skills
- Ability to interact effectively with students in the classroom and as an academic advisor
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and course and program development
- Experience using instructional technology and MS Office
- Ability to use a variety of instructional strategies to support and motivate students
Preferred Qualifications:
General Information
General Weekly Work Schedule: Evening classes (6:00 pm – 9:15 pm); 2 nights per week for 14 weeks. Schedule may vary based on clinical externship(s).
