Overview
The Phlebotomist III- Float represents the face of our company to patients who come to CLIENT, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The Phlebotomist III- Float draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The Phlebotomist III- Float has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. The Phlebotomist III- Float is responsible for providing coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles, and must ensure that daily activities of the Patient Service Center/Mobile/Long Term Care/In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time. The Phlebotomist III- Float demonstrates Leadership Behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to work and direct daily activity in a doctor’s office, a patient service center, in a house call environment, long term care, or as business needs dictate. The role may require stepping in for a Phlebotomist III- Float to lead one or more PSR on site and to coach, mentor, instruct, and onboard new employees for clients. The Phlebotomist III- Float may also work with customers who have high complexity and/or volume needs, requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills, strong customer-facing skills, and collaboration with multiple functions (Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT connectivity, Billing, and Logistics).
Responsibilities
Lead and cover daily activities across multiple locations and roles as assigned.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and onboarding support for new employees and clients.
Serve as a point of contact on site and provide input to the group lead or supervisor.
Perform phlebotomy with high accuracy and maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
Handle high-complexity and/or high-volume test orders with effective communication and collaboration across departments.
Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
- Five years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
- Minimum 3 years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred.
- Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.

Offer of Employment Process
When making any offer of employment to a successful candidate, Mindlance staff is responsible to the hiring party to inform the candidate of the client's intent to extend a contingent offer of employment. Upon the successful completion of the background check and drug screen, the submission of all Mindlance paperwork along with any client specific documents the associate will be cleared for their assignment. Once the start instructions are received, which is typically the Friday prior to the candidate's start date the associate will receive starting instructions from the account management team.
