Job: Entry Phlebotomist I
Duration: 6 Months
Shift: 6:30 am to 3:30 pm
Location: Tampa, FL 33626
Responsibilities
- The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) greets patients upon arrival and answers questions or concerns with care and compassion.
- Maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable.
- Under supervision, learn and perform Phlebotomy skills to grow within the company.
- Explain procedures to patients in a safe and accurate manner, fostering trust and confidence.
- Demonstrate excellence in customer care with sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Maintain a safe, professional lobby environment and ensure timely completion of daily activities under the area supervisor.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public while showing willingness to learn new skills.
Job Requirements
- Ability to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check-ins in the lobby via self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
- Willingness to learn Phlebotomy skills during downtime or breaks that need coverage.
- Once Phlebotomy skills are obtained, perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- High level of customer service experience/skills is required.
- Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service required (Retail, Home Health Aide, etc.). Prior Phlebotomy experience is NOT required. Keyboard/data entry experience is a must. This is an Entry position into Phlebotomy, so candidates must be willing to learn this skill.
Additional Job Details
- Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from the worksite (bus, Uber, or rideshare is not reliable transportation).
- Must be available to work as scheduled, be on time, and stay for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism/tardiness is not tolerated and may be cause for termination.
- Candidates should be within a 20-25 minute commute window to ensure travel reliability.
- This is a Front of House role that will also train the candidate on Phlebotomy skills.
- If the candidate is not willing to learn/perform Phlebotomy, do not submit them.
