Mainframe Tester Job at United IT Solutions in Memphis

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mainframe Tester with strong expertise in Hogan banking applications. The ideal candidate will have deep testing knowledge in core banking systems and proven leadership skills to coordinate with business stakeholders, developers, and testing teams. This role involves driving end-to-end Hogan testing, ensuring quality, and managing delivery of critical banking projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end testing activities for Hogan applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and customers to understand requirements and define test strategies.
• Translate business/functional requirements into comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and cases.
• Manage test execution, defect tracking, and closure ensuring traceability to requirements.
• Review test deliverables prepared by the team and ensure adherence to QA standards & governance.
• Act as a single point of contact for Hogan testing deliverables with onsite/offshore teams.
• Provide UAT support, guide defect triage calls, and facilitate smooth releases.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to test automation or modernization in Hogan testing.
• Mentor and upskill junior testers on Hogan modules and mainframe testing best practices.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in Hogan modules (Deposits, PAS, CIS, CAMS, IDS, ODS).

Proficiency in Mainframe Testing tools and technologies:

• COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM
• File-Aid, Abend-Aid, CA7, Control-M
• Experience in test strategy, planning, estimation, and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with defect/test management tools (HP ALM, JIRA, Quality Center).
• Strong understanding of STLC, SDLC, Agile methodology, and QA governance.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in customer-facing roles and manage delivery expectations.
