Job Title : Mainframe Tester

Location : Southlake, TX 76092 (Onsite)

Duration : 12 Months

Responsibilities

• Perform mainframe testing activities and contribute to the overall quality of deliverables, using knowledge of mainframes that includes JCL, COBOL, VSAM, ISPF, DB2, CICS, and Datacom.
• Conduct data validation, data extraction, and prepare test data using various JCL utilities.
• Utilize version control and debugging tools (e.g., Changeman and Expeditor) to support test execution and issue resolution.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with the team as needed.
• Engage in Agile practices, apply test design techniques, and help define and drive the automation strategy.
• Prepare and maintain test artifacts such as Test Plans, Test Cases/Scripts, and Traceability Matrices.
• Use ALM/JIRA for test case management and defect tracking.
• Apply strong knowledge of software QA methodology, tools, and processes.
• Participate in onsite-offshore delivery model and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mainframes testing with proficiency in JCL, COBOL, VSAM, ISPF, DB2, CICS, and Datacom.
• Hands-on experience with Changeman and debugging tools like Expeditor.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good knowledge of Agile, test design techniques, and ability to define and drive automation strategy.
• Experience in writing Test Plans, Test Cases/Scripts, and Traceability Matrices.
• Experience using ALM/JIRA.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in onsite-offshore delivery models.
• Strong communication skills.
