Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking an Inspector Tester C - 3rd Shift (Quality) to join our team on Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI.

The hourly rate for this position is $22.30 per hour + $2.50 per hour shift premium. The core hours are 11 pm – 7 am. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. This position offers a sign-on bonus of $2,000*, paid in two installments, less applicable withholding.

What You’ll Do

The Inspector/Tester performs assembly inspection of transformers/regulators at various locations in the assembly plants per established procedures. You will perform electrical testing on assembled single and three-phase transformers/regulators per established procedures and monitor conformance to quality standards.

  • Perform routine factory dielectric tests per established procedures, including OX (induced), QC impulse, and hipot (applied potential).
  • Perform routine factory loss tests per established procedures, including load loss (winding loss) & no-load loss (core loss).
  • Perform power factor, ratio, and resistance tests per established procedures.
  • Perform operational tests on regulators as required.
  • Perform continuity test on unit per established procedures.
  • Follow routine tests, inspect unit nameplate, stamp impedance value on nameplate, and secure nameplate to tested unit.
  • Perform visual inspection on interior of unit upon completion of testing.
  • Perform minor maintenance of test equipment.
  • Perform special routine tests when required.
  • Perform all responsibilities of the Inspector, including, but not limited to: visual inspection of units throughout the assembly process per established procedures; tests such as ratio, resistance, leak, continuity, control box, insulation resistance, regulator sub-assembly, regulator modification, regulator run-in; apply decals and stencils to exterior of unit and perform paint mileage check as required.
  • Assist Engineering and Manufacturing in identifying and resolving shop floor problems.
  • Complete various company forms to communicate inspection status and other information and to document inspection results per established procedures.
  • Collect various types of data per established procedures as required.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education in AC/DC fundamentals or completion of electricity coursework from an accredited institution or a minimum 1 year of experience in electricity.

Skills

  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; bend, twist, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and use both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without reasonable accommodations.
