Muon Space builds the systems that enable design, testing, launching, and operation of satellite constellations for a wide range of missions. Our engineers contribute to embedded flight software, physics simulations, customer-facing APIs and services, user interfaces, scheduling algorithms, data pipelines, computer vision, signal processing, and large-scale cloud systems.

As a Entry-Level Software Engineer, you’ll bring strong technical foundations and a passion for learning, while developing into an expert in your chosen domain. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, gaining exposure to challenging problems and cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of new software capabilities for ground or space systems
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Collaborate with teammates to propose and iterate on software designs
  • Conduct analysis to support both development and validation of systems
  • Learn new technologies quickly and apply them effectively
  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Deliver work reliably and on schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Computational Mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (C++, Python, TypeScript, or similar)
  • Coursework, internships, or projects demonstrating knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and statistics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience from internships, research, or project teams (e.g., programming clubs, robotics, rocketry, or open-source contributions)
  • Familiarity with embedded software, networking protocols, or hardware/software testing
  • Exposure to cloud environments, distributed systems, or data pipelines
  • Understanding of physics, orbital mechanics, or autonomous systems
  • Interest in mathematical optimization, machine learning, or advanced algorithms
