Responsibilities

• Design and implement Sports Performance Programs: develop and execute individualized strength and conditioning programs; conduct fitness assessments; use evidence-based practices to design progressive training focusing on strength, speed, agility, flexibility, and injury prevention.
• Lead Group Training Sessions: conduct group workouts and training sessions for sports teams and individual athletes; instruct proper techniques for weightlifting and cardiovascular exercises; provide guidance on nutrition and recovery strategies.
• Monitoring and Tracking Progress: track progress and performance over time; adjust programs based on assessments and feedback; maintain detailed records of workouts, attendance, and performance metrics.
• Collaboration and Communication: work with coaches and athletic staff; communicate with coaches, parents, and school administrators regarding progress and program updates; foster a positive, motivating environment.
• Additional duties: ensure program availability and alignment with school schedules; promote teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

In This Role, You Will

• Be part of a motivated team focused on education reform and building exemplary schools; collaborate with coaches across the SA network to build a world-class athletics program.
• Inspire a love for sport and encourage critical thinking through rigorous instruction; coordinate and lead family meetings; receive ongoing feedback and support from leadership and faculty.
• Implement a comprehensive and inclusive sports program to compete in internal and external leagues; implement a curriculum with goals and benchmarks for scholars; develop lesson plans introducing basics of physical movement across multiple sports.
• Encourage scholars to engage in regular physical activity and develop lifelong interest in sports; work some weekends and travel between training sites depending on the sport; lift heavy items and equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 - 3 years of experience as a strength coach or personal trainer, preferably in a high school or collegiate setting.
• Ability to manage both administrative and coaching aspects in a timely and organized manner.
• Experience designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs, preferably with collegiate, high school, or youth athletes.
• Commitment to the growth and development of scholar-athletes on and off the field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or related field.
• Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
