Job Title: Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coach (Tacoma, WA)

Department: Baseball Operations

Reports To: Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coordinator

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Primary Objective

Responsible fordelivery of strength & conditioning programs for athletes at their assignedaffiliateas well as working proactively to prevent injuries utilizing a collaborative and progressive approach.The Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coach will serve as a part of a comprehensive team in a high-performance professional baseball setting.

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualplayer programs by planning daily performance training, conditioning, and sprint and agility work in the gym and on-field; update player programs throughout theseason
  • Conduct movement prep and warm-ups before training sessions, batting practices, throwing programs, conditioning, andgames
  • Assistmedical teamas needed withpreventative and recoveryprograms
  • Communicate daily withHigh Performance Team (HP)teamto modify programming per injury limitations/progressions
  • Track physical activities and weight fluctuation of each player at the minor league level and report on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to theMinor LeaguePerformanceCoordinator
  • Work with Dietician to advocate healthy eating andsportnutrition forplayers
  • Collaborate with Assistant Minor LeaguePerformanceCoordinator and Registered Dietician toensure quality of clubhouse snacks andmeals
  • Assist(Minor League Baseball(MiLB)PerformanceCoordinator in day-to-day operations during the off-season and in-season including by not limited to off-season training camps and spring training minor league training camp.
  • Persistently challenge new ideas in the field of performance training and seek out appropriate applications forbaseball
  • Conduct ongoing research and participate in continuing education in advances in the field.
  • Ongoing assessment of athletes’ physical capacity and communicate observations and potential training plans/interventions with theMinorLeagueStrengthand Conditioning Coordinator
  • Organize and maintain a clean weightroom
  • Will perform other duties asassigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degreein Exercise Science related fieldrequired
  • National Strength and Conditioning Association-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)required
  • National Strength and Conditioning Association-RegisteredStrength andConditioning Coach (RSCC)
  • CPR/AEDrequired
  • Professional or college level strength and conditioning experiencepreferred

Physical Activities and Working Conditions

  • Positionwill be assigned to coverage of a Seattle Mariners affiliate site and will require residence in that location in-season. Will be expected to relocate to Peoria while not at their assigned affiliate.

  • Position will require frequenttravel
  • Position will require non-traditional work schedule including nights andweekends
  • Maximum lifting of up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting of weights up to 50 pounds; typically standing and walking for much of the day

Compensation and Benefits

The Mariners are committed to providing a competitive total rewards package for our valued Team Members.

The anticipated range of base compensation for this role is $50,000 - $60,000annually.
