Overview

The Mobile Diesel Technician (B) will repair and maintain all types of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling equipment, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment. The technician will perform job duties independently with limited supervision, mentor and assist vehicle technicians as needed, and complete Commercial Customer asset PMs and repairs at remote work sites.

Job Details

  • Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm (hours may vary based on customer needs)
  • Pay Rate: $30+/hr, based on skillset and experience

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain all types of customer vehicles and equipment, including material handling equipment, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment.
  • Perform job duties independently with limited supervision; mentor and assist vehicle technicians as needed.
  • Complete Commercial Customer asset PMs and repairs at remote customer work sites.
  • Must be equipped with personal hand tools; box tools are stored in the service bed of the truck.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Basic welding and cutting torch operation
  • Basic diagnostic tool skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Professional and appropriate interaction with internal and external customers
  • Ability to schedule and prioritize daily tasks
  • The technician needs to provide their own tools
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Tools, equipment, machinery and/or materials used
  • Operate power, hand, diagnostic tools, and material handling equipment
  • Must be capable of driving company equipment including Class 8 tractors
  • Must be capable of driving and working out of a mobile shop truck
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and potentially vary the start and finish times, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the shift and work out in the elements at commercial customer sites
  • Ability to work remotely at various commercial customer sites without direct supervision

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge acquired through 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • D.O.T. Brake Inspection certification
  • Valid Driver's License
