Overview
These positions will perform a variety of maintenance duties pertaining to the overall operation of green spaces, grounds and facilities located in the parks, cemetery as well other city owned facilities. These tasks will generally fall within the operational areas of facility, grounds, custodial and special events. The ability to work 16-40hrs per week alone or in a small team. The purpose is to support the department's operational responsibilities. Its mission is to provide safe, professionally maintained and aesthetically attractive parks and green spaces that provide opportunities for active and passive recreation while enhancing the quality of life and contributing to the value and attractiveness of O\'Fallon as a place to live and visit. The availability of positions very throughout the year. Park maintenance seasonal employment starts as early as February and concludes in November. Additionally, the position offers the opportunities to work within other areas of the parks department. This may include but not limited to seasonal gardener and ballfield maintenance. Experience is not required or necessary. Job specific training will be provided. Pay rate will be determined based on experience and availability. There are many available shifts, most personal schedules can be accommodated.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- mowing, trimming, blowing, tilling, raking, other manual tasks
- janitorial functions in restrooms and park facilities to maintain a clean environment, including litter pick up and trash disposal
- special event setup and service
- operation of equipment such as park vehicles, mowers, utility vehicles, etc.
- safe and responsible operation of equipment
- other park maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor, full time staff and crew leaders

- Ability to work staggered shift assignments as necessary which may include weekends

Essential Education and Experience
- Must be at least 17 years of age, Required
- Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, Required
Essential Physical Requirements
- Most work is accomplished in an outdoor environment, subject to weather fluctuations (wide range of temperatures and inclement conditions) – Required
- Ability to walk, run, stand, and sit and complete a variety of motor skills
- Ability to lift and carry 30-70 pounds regularly
- Ability to hear and see well
