Description:
The Senior Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operations of the warehousing, leading a team of shipping/receiving, materials handling, and warehouse clerks. Primary responsibilities include leadership and supervision of employees, preservation and transactions of finished goods and raw materials, health & safety, cost management and reduction, risk management, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Provides effective leadership, supervision, motivation, and development of warehouse employees for safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
- Supports the Warehouse Manager in activities involving the WMS system, SOP/WI, KPI, ISO, and safety standards.
- Leads a team responsible for raw materials, finished goods, and non-raw material items' shipping, receiving, warehousing, and material transfer.
- Knows all warehouse positions to assist when needed; troubleshoots ERP or system issues; engages in process and work environment analysis and improvement.
- Interacts professionally with all departments, customers, and vendors.
- Maintains inventory accuracy, conducts inventory counts, prepares reports, and performs root cause analysis with preventative actions.
- Communicates with other shifts to ensure smooth transition.
- Works closely with EHS and other departments to develop, implement, and maintain safety and health programs, promoting a positive safety culture.
- Ensures all activities comply with the Canadian Solar Code of Business Conduct and environmental, health, and safety policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Experience with logistics for local, national, and international shipping.
- Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in a related field.
- Proficient in MS Office and experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Inventory Management.
- High self-motivation, initiative, and ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Well-organized, energetic, and a team player.
- Flexibility in working hours is mandatory.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
