Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description

Join Core Group Resources as a Heavy Equipment Operator and operate various heavy machinery for site construction, maintenance, and landfill operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely, adhering to safety policies.
• Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance, maintaining accurate records.
• Use material-handling equipment to move and position raw materials and components.
• Follow standard operating procedures for equipment use and maintenance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: None required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
• Skills: Good motor coordination and dexterity.
• Physical Effort: Occasionally handle objects up to 30 pounds.
• Exposure: Rarely to hazards like cuts, burns, chemicals; frequently to dirt, odors, noise, weather.
• Work environment: Shop or field.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with dozers (D6–D8), scraper, compactor, haul truck, excavator.
• Experience with forklift, cherry picker, or skid steer is a plus, especially if combined with other heavy equipment skills.
