Job Summary
We have an immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator. Candidates are to have at least one year of experience operating a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, tiling machines, front loaders, skid steers, semi-trucks, and tractors. You will be responsible for inspecting machines before and after you use them, operating heavy equipment, loading and unloading machinery, and moving equipment to and from job sites. When necessary, you will also perform routine maintenance on the machines or recommend they be sent out for repairs. All equipment operators must follow company and governmental safety guidelines at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect large equipment before and after use to ensure they are working properly
- Load and unload machinery and project materials
- Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment
- Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs when necessary
- Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties
- Assist laborers when necessary
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with heavy equipment
- Possession of a commercial driver's license (CDL) or a willingness to obtain the license
- Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
- Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Reliable and a Team player
- Willingness to travel short term for certain projects
