ABOUT THE ROLE
The Heavy Equipment Loader Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring that incoming materials are stored efficiently and safely. You will help maintain an organized inventory of stored materials in a safe manner.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Operating a rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle with a front-mounted hydraulic bucket to transport bulk materials efficiently between storage and processing areas.
- Performing daily operational activities at a Ready Mix plant, including maintenance and care of the stationary equipment.
- Initiating engine operation, controlling gears and pedals, and maneuvering the loader to effectively load and transport materials.
- Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines while following instructions from supervisors and ensuring all activities are conducted efficiently.
- Conducting routine maintenance tasks on the loader, such as lubrication, fueling, and cleaning to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and logs for any repairs carried out.
- Facilitating effective communication with supervisors, crew members, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
- Safely operating the loader while also performing mechanic and general labor tasks as needed.
- Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and maintaining cleanliness around the plant site.
- Conducting daily pre-trip safety inspections and reporting any defects.
- Loading materials to maintain stock levels and ensuring a safe environment for both stockpiling and customer load-out.
- Maintaining appropriate stockpile areas and using safe practices throughout all operations.
- Performing other responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 12 months of experience as a loader operator, preferably with CAT950, and prior experience in heavy equipment, construction, or asphalt.
- Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills.
- Proven record of operating safely.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and a strong understanding of company products, processes, and equipment.

- Successful candidates will strictly adhere to safety protocols and proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including being clean shaven for respirator fit tests where applicable.
