What You’ll Do

  • Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Follow established traffic patterns, avoid hazardous conditions, and report any unsafe conditions.
  • Operate Mobile Equipment Loaders. Load aggregates for processing, feed the plant, and safely load customers’ trucks with desired specification product within legal load limits. Operate a loader to strip and prep the site for mining and to push material closer to the feeder for processing.
  • Monitor Materials. Maintain an adequate feed of materials and stockpiles. Visually inspect materials for compliance with specifications.
  • Perform Inspections and Maintenance. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately complete daily mobile equipment reports. Observe the plant and report maintenance or adjustments as needed. Clean yard and plant areas. Participate in maintenance, repair, and general plant housekeeping activities.
  • Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Skills You’ll Need

  • Experience. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience operating loaders and dozers in a plant environment.
  • Functional and Safety Knowledge. Solid knowledge of equipment capabilities and finished-material specifications. Ability to recognize products by sight and understand proper plant operation. Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations. Hazard recognition skills.
  • Flexibility. Ability to work overtime and extended hours as needed. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
  • Ready to Drive. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Interpersonal Skills. Good communication and the ability to work in a team. Respond to inquiries promptly and follow through to address issues.

Compensation

Hourly Range: The hourly range for this role is between $22.21 - $32.18. This range excludes discretionary bonuses or equity. Compensation considers factors such as skillset, experience, job scope, and market data.
