Job Summary

A Network Technician (Hardware) is responsible for installing connectivity solutions, motivating work crews, developing customer relationships, and ensuring high-quality, timely installations that meet customer requirements.

Must be able to travel throughout the Eastern US.

Responsibilities

  1. Experience in Access Control/CCTV programming is a plus.
  2. Maintain a professional appearance, wearing the company uniform during project duties unless directed otherwise.
  3. Accept direction and critiques from higher classification team members.
  4. Understand complex wiring diagrams and installation instructions.
  5. Download files to USB drives for provisioning LTE modems and switches.
  6. Configure switches, UPSs, PDU, set privileges, IP addresses, and commission network devices like cameras and access points.
  7. Update firmware on devices, terminate fiber optic and copper cabling to industry standards, and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  8. Perform telecommunication room build-outs, labeling, testing, and documentation.
  9. Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and project management.
  10. Manage project materials, monitor progress, and coordinate with the Project Manager.
  11. Ensure safety, compliance, and proper documentation at all times.
  12. Develop and execute project plans, manage sub-contractors, and ensure project milestones are met.
  13. Complete all required paperwork and maintain a neat work environment.
  14. Adhere to environmental, health, and safety policies and obtain necessary certifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in telecom systems, TCP/IP networks, CCTV, access control, and wireless solutions.
  • Proficiency in installing, terminating, and testing low voltage and fiber optic cables.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and installation instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment screening.
  • Dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work at heights and with various tools.

Working Conditions

  • Willingness to travel away from home market for up to two weeks.
  • Exposure to noisy, dusty, and potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Support during and outside regular hours; work in the United States required.
