Sensors Hardware Electrical Engineer, Health Technologies Pay Competitive Employment type: Other Job Description Req#: 200478038 Summary The Health Technologies Team conceives and proves out exciting new technology for Apple’s future products and features. We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join a cross-functional team to help drive feasibility of health, wellness, and fitness sensors, systems, and applications. Key Qualifications Relevant industry experience working as a sensors design engineer, hardware electrical engineer, biomedical engineer, or equivalent. Electronic design (analog and digital), PCB design, and fabrication. Experience with troubleshooting and debugging prototype hardware/software. Thorough understanding of sensor physics and design, measurement principles, and instrumentation. Data analysis, signal processing, and programming (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C, LabView). Good understanding of non-invasive sensors used to measure biological signals. Previous experience with medical, health, wellness and/or fitness sensor devices, and applications. General understanding of human physiology. Description Develop sensor designs and prototype hardware for physiological measurement applications. Help design and execute pilot studies using prototype hardware. Perform analysis of data collected, root-cause sources of error in measurements, implement improvements in hardware, measurement methods, or signal processing. Inform development direction related to product design, specification limits, and algorithm performance. Cross-Functional Responsibilities Solicit and incorporate input from cross-functional teams at Apple for hardware, sensors, software, and algorithms. Communicate architectures, designs, results, and technical risks to other teams and Apple executives. Education & Experience Degree: Master’s or Ph.D. Field of Study: Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Physics, or other related discipline. Additional Requirements Must thrive in a fast-paced environment. Must be highly organized, and be able to multitask. Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $104,000 and $190,000 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
