Overview

Responsibilities
- Provide para-professional HR support in areas including recruitment, onboarding, personnel records, employee relations, regulatory reporting, and benefits administration.
- Support local recruiting and outreach efforts in coordination with the centralized recruiting team to meet monthly and annual targets.
- Ensure a positive candidate and hiring manager experience; assist with administration and tracking of employee development training as needed.
- Assist with onboarding, data entry into the HR information system, and new employee orientation; ensure policy understanding and accuracy of records.
- Resolve routine employee inquiries and update HRIS with changes; escalate concerns to the HR Manager as appropriate.
- Maintain records of insurance, retirement plans, and personnel transactions (hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, etc.).
- Process performance reviews, wage/salary transactions, and disciplinary actions in HRIS; process leaves in the timekeeping system with respect to applicable laws (FMLA, ADA, etc.).
- Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures; may attend hearings as the HR representative.
- Assist with workers’ compensation claims and prepare routine reports analyzing trends and problem areas.
- Provide referral support for the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of related HR experience, or a higher education degree with 1 year of HR experience.
- Good working knowledge of HR concepts, practices, procedures, and basic employment laws.
- Experience with an HR Information System preferred; strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Professional conduct with the ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
