HR Generalist – South Bend, IN

Location: Fully Onsite

Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000

Benefits: Strong benefits package; mission-driven nonprofit environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook in compliance with applicable laws and best practices
  • Automate and manage digital employee files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Develop and implement onboarding and training programs for new hires
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and open enrollment coordination
  • Support employee relations and assist in fostering a positive workplace culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with 2–3 years of experience; 5+ years HR experience accepted without a degree
  • Experience in onboarding, benefits administration, and HR file management
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance and employment laws
  • Nonprofit HR experience is a plus
