Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide the payroll and benefits functions, working closely with the Payroll Specialist and Benefits Specialist to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Monitor and approve employee pay increases, promotions, and compensation adjustments
  • Lead employee relations efforts, including coaching managers on corrective actions, reviewing write-ups, and conducting or advising on terminations and exit interviews
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and documentation standards
  • Serve as a point of escalation for sensitive employee issues, working to resolve conflicts and maintain a positive work environment
  • Partner with hiring managers on recruiting efforts by assisting with candidate screening, offer approvals, and onboarding processes
  • Support recruiting efforts by reviewing resumes, coordinating interviews, and assisting with offer approvals
  • Support performance management initiatives, including annual reviews, disciplinary procedures, and improvement plans
  • Assist in developing and refining HR policies and procedures to support company goals and compliance
  • Maintain and audit employee records in the HRIS system to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with the leadership on strategic initiatives and cross-departmental projects
  • Participate in special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience, with exposure to payroll, benefits, and employee relations
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is REQUIRED
  • Experience with multifamily property management preferred
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory HR role strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law, compensation practices, and HR processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Experience working with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, HRO, or similar platforms)
  • Comfortable working in a fully in-office, fast-paced environment
