Human Resources Generalist
The Human Resources Generalist will support the daily functions of the HR department and report to the Director of HR. This role will serve as a key partner to leaders and employees providing expert guidance in performance management and employee relations while playing a central role in creating exceptional employee experience. Duties / Responsibilities:
- Understanding and ability to interpret and explain state and federal employment and labor law regulations
- Collaborative work style; must be able to communicate and work with employees at all levels of the organization in an approachable and open manner.
- Analyze HR metrics, reporting, and procedures to capture trends and recommend solutions to support organizational change, employee performance and workplace satisfaction.
- Coach and support leaders through performance improvement processes, corrective action plans, and development discussions.
- Possess a strong understanding of Human Resource best practices and ensure consistent implementation related to employee relations, performance management, labor laws, etc.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate individuals.
- Assist with coordination of employee activities including quarterly events, weekly lunches and other events
- Maintains a compassionate and supportive environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field required.
- At least three years of increasingly responsible professional experience in HR is preferred. SHRM-CP a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong listening skills to understand questions, issues and concerns from employees at all levels
- Works well under pressure and consistent ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Strong organizational, time management skills and timely follow up abilities.
- Strong decision-making, problem solving, and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, confidentiality, and ethics.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
