The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting the daily HR operations of a fast-paced food chain environment. This position is responsible for recruiting, employee relations, training, compliance, and HR administrative tasks. The ideal candidate thrives in a multi-unit retail or restaurant environment and helps foster a positive, productive, and compliant workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate and manage end-to-end recruitment for restaurant-level and corporate staff.
  • Conduct interviews, screen applicants, and support hiring managers in staffing needs.
  • Organize onboarding sessions and ensure all new hire documentation is completed.
Employee Relations
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and conflict resolution.
  • Support managers in resolving performance, attendance, or conduct issues.
  • Promote a positive employee experience and work culture aligned with company values.
Training & Development
  • Support the roll-out of training programs and compliance modules.
  • Track training completions and maintain records.
  • Assist with career development initiatives and succession planning.
HR Administration & Compliance
  • Maintain HRIS records and ensure personnel files are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, health & safety regulations, and food industry requirements.
  • Support audits, investigations, and policy updates as needed.
Payroll & Benefits Support
  • Collaborate with payroll and finance to ensure accurate timekeeping and pay processing.
  • Educate employees on benefits and assist with enrollment or issue resolution.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of HR experience, preferably in the hospitality or food service industry.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and labor law compliance (FLSA, OSHA, etc.).
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, especially in diverse workforce environments.


Compensation: $55,000-$58,240 annually
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
