Overview

The Office/HR Assistant plays a vital role in supporting both administrative and human resources functions. This position ensures smooth office operations while assisting in the execution of HR programs and initiatives that foster a productive, compliant, and positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Human Resources Support:
  • Conducts or facilitates background checks and employee eligibility verifications in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Coordinates and implements new hire orientation programs and employee recognition initiatives to enhance engagement and retention.
  • Assists in the administration of core HR functions including compensation, benefits, leave management, disciplinary actions, dispute resolution, investigations, performance and talent management, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive matters to appropriate HR personnel.
  • Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, ensuring documentation and confidentiality.
  • Stays informed on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in talent management and employment law.
  • Administrative & Office Operations:
  • Provides administrative support to the HR and office management teams, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and organizing documents.
  • Oversees daily office operations, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, and vendor coordination.
  • Monitors and resolves discrepancies in time and attendance records to ensure accurate tracking of employee work hours.
  • Maintains organized filing systems for HR and office documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with recordkeeping standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in administrative or HR support roles.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, timekeeping software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
