Responsibilities
- Greet customers, receive food orders, repeat food orders, charge the appropriate price for each menu item ordered, receive the correct amount tendered and provide the correct change for each transaction.
- Enact gift cards requested by customers.
- Be familiar with and up to date with California Fish Grill Restaurant’s menu and prices.
- Interact with guests in a friendly and fast manner.
- Make corrections to customer orders in a fast and efficient manner.
- Determine counterfeit money and respond to such situations appropriately.
- Verify age requirements prior to serving alcoholic beverages where applicable.
- Treat all customers to ensure complete satisfaction.
- Report to work in a neat and clean uniform with well-groomed hair and personal hygiene.
- Keep the work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used.
- Complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities
- Support the Mission, Values and Vision of California Fish Grill and the facility.
- Support and implement safety procedures and programs, including fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security; report and correct unsafe conditions; address equipment repair and maintenance needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of all data, including guest credit card information.
- Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
- Cooperate with and participate in teamwork; plan and complete duties with minimal supervision, using appropriate judgment.
- Use tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive situations; follow up with supervisors, co-workers or guests regarding complaints, problems and concerns.
- Promote positive public relations with the community, family members and guests.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Prior experience in cashier or food service roles.
- Valid ServSafe or other approved Food Handler Certification.
- High level of integrity and honesty.
Working Conditions
Restaurant environment. May require working beyond normal hours as needed to meet customer or restaurant requirements. Tasks may include standing for long periods, reaching with hands and arms, stooping and kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
