Overview

Sales Support Associate role at Coach, Pleasanton, CA. The role is an integral part of the store’s success and efficiency, focusing on brand commitment in customer service, accurate and efficient work from receipt to point of sale, and maintaining a well‑organized sales floor.

Responsibilities

  • CASH WRAP: Greet customers, interact genuinely, read cues to determine needs, conduct email/name capture where permitted by law, maintain accuracy at the POS, keep the cash wrap organized and clean, suggest add‑ons and sell gift cards, ensure cash and POS media accuracy in compliance with Coach policy, thank customers and provide reasons to return, and represent the Coach brand appropriately.
  • STOCKROOM / WAREHOUSE: Receive shipments and transfers, notify management when new product arrives, scan cartons/transfers and verify store information, communicate discrepancies, process shipments/transfers per Coach standards and timeframes, organize and clean stock room daily (including offsite/remote warehouse as applicable), shift/organize product for sell through, manage stock levels, conduct regular cycle counts, participate in store physical inventories, and maintain Loss Prevention standards.
  • SALES FLOOR: Regularly analyze replenishment needs, replenish floor zones, respond to sell through and execute visual merchandising, support floor activities, communicate price points/features/benefits/stock availability to customers, respond to customer requests confidently, and partner with sales team or management as needed. Drive for results and maintain a customer‑focused, adaptable, and relationship‑oriented approach with colleagues and customers. Demonstrates creativity, interpersonal savvy, learning on the fly, perseverance, and the ability to handle ambiguity.

Additional Requirements

Experience: 1–3 years of previous retail experience (cashier/stock/sales), preferably in a luxury retail service environment. Knowledge of fashion trends and marketplace competition.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

Technical: Knowledge of cash register systems, basic computer skills (including iPad/laptop, Mobile POS and Internet use), walkie talkie, and ability to read price and product release sheets.

Physical: Ability to work at a fast pace; effective communication with customers and team; maneuvering the sales floor, shelves, and stock room; ability to climb, bend, and kneel; frequently lift/carry up to 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds for product shipment/ transfers.

Schedule: Ability to meet Coach scheduling and availability expectations, including flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays with high retail traffic.
