As an Operations Generalist, you\'ll ensure our merchandising and inventory strategies are executed across the Pet Care Center using Petco processes. You will help ensure the efficient and effective operations of the Pet Care Center to meet the needs of guests and their pets. You may work with stocking shelves, cashier duties, cleaning, and supporting a positive guest experience. A passion for animal welfare and a collaborative spirit within the Pet Care Center team is important.

Position Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage inventory across the entire Pet Care Center.
• Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, priced, and displayed to create a great presentation for guests.
• Process register transactions to create a great guest experience.
• Be proficient in our selling model and support guest interactions as needed.
• Demonstrate a strong interest in animal welfare and support animal care procedures to maintain pet health.
• Complete training programs to maintain a high level of expertise for the role.
• Promote a positive culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
• Adhere to established operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED) or related work experience.
• Proficiency in mathematics and above-average communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor with a genuine interest in animals and their care.
• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills for interactions with the public and team members.

Education/Skills

In addition to a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrate proficiency in mathematics and basic accounting relationships and exhibit exceptional communication skills.

Work Environment

Most duties are indoors. Stocking and merchandise carry-outs may require briefly leaving the store. The role may involve bending, kneeling, moving merchandise up to 50 pounds, and standing for long periods. Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends may be required to meet store needs.

These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied. Start at $16.50 per hour; range $16.00 – $22.00 per hour.
