Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the maintenance and inventory across the entire Pet Care Center.
- Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, priced, and displayed to create a great presentation for our guests.
- Process register transactions in a way that creates a great experience for each guest.
- Be proficient within our selling model and support guest interactions as needed.
- Have a strong interest in animal welfare and support animal care procedures to maintain pet health.
- Complete and apply training programs to maintain a high level of expertise of their role.
- Promote a positive culture of teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration.
- Adhere to established operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Evaluate guest inquiries and refer to the Leader on Duty as needed.
Other Essential Duties
- Utilize selling behaviors to provide an amazing guest experience within our Pet Care Locations and identify and solve for guests' needs.
- Contribute to a safe environment by following safety protocols; the safety of partners, guests and pets is a priority.
- Be part of a collaborative culture; work as a team to solve health and wellness needs of pets.
- Engage in your career by participating in developmental programs to support ongoing growth.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma (or GED) or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in mathematics and above-average communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor with a genuine interest in animals and their care.
- Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills due to interaction with the public and store partners/leaders.
Education/Skills
In addition to a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED), demonstrate proficiency in mathematics, basic accounting relationships, and exceptional communication skills.

Work Environment
The majority of duties are indoors; some tasks require leaving the store briefly for receiving, stocking, or balancing merchandise. Willingness to bend, kneel, move up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and maintain a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
Pay range: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour. Starting Rate: $16.00 per hour.
