JOB OBJECTIVE: Receives payments for fines, bonds, court costs, warrant fees, police reports, etc. and processes citations, receipts for payments, prepares monies for daily deposits, files ADR's, and receives and distributes the mail for the Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Receives money in payment for fines, warrant fees, reports, bonds, court costs, etc., issues receipts, and prepares daily bank deposits.
  2. Performs general office work as required, and performs other duties as required or directed by supervisors.
  3. Attends training as required by Department or City of Sherwood (Security Training every 2 years).
  4. Incumbent is responsible for the efficient operation of the cashier's section.
  5. Balancing Departments Deposits Daily.
  6. Compiling Department's financial totals for End of Month report and Daily Reconciliation report.
  7. Process letters to defendants when they make an error on their payment.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned and/or required.

Qualifications

High school or GED. Must have an understanding of the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act. Must possess a thorough knowledge of professional filing practices, telephone skills, typing skills of at least 55 words per minute with accuracy more important than speed. Ability to maintain accurate records, type and enter data accurately. Ability to effectively communicate on a one-on-one basis with others. Ability to maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with other employees, department officials and the public. Ability to report to work each scheduled day, and on time.
