The Janitor at Linamar Southfield will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall upkeep of the machining facility. This individual will ensure that production, office, and common areas are safe, orderly, and well-maintained, supporting a clean and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal across all areas of the facility
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and locker rooms to company standards
• Maintain cleanliness of production floor areas, ensuring spills and debris are promptly addressed to maintain safety
• Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks such as floor scrubbing, window washing, and carpet cleaning
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, paper products, and restroom necessities
• Safely operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other janitorial machinery
• Collect and properly dispose of recycling and waste materials in accordance with facility guidelines
• Report any maintenance or repair needs (plumbing, lighting, equipment, etc.) to the Facilities Supervisor
• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
• Support facility needs during special events, audits, or inspections

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in logistics, supply chain, or business preferred
• 3+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive environment
• 1+ years of supervisory or team lead experience
• Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, freight documentation, and transportation logistics
• Proficient with shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (certification preferred)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, team-oriented approach
• Experience working with EDI systems and generating ASN documents (EDI 856)
• Familiarity with customer portals used by major automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of labeling, packaging, and shipment documentation standards in the automotive industry
• Ability to interpret and act on electronic shipping schedules and order releases
