Overview

Winterwood, Inc. is hiring for the role of Janitor. This position is under the general direction of the Regional Manager or Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the daily upkeep and overall appearance of the property/facility.

Position Details

• Property Name: The Prestonian Apts. - 715 East Gray St., Louisville, KY 40202
• Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)
• Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
• Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of janitorial or custodial experience required (residential, commercial, or industrial).
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning chemicals/equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, climb stairs/ladders, and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and punctuality required.
• Willingness and ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
• Ability to travel to Lexington, KY for training.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of common areas including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, restrooms, laundry rooms, offices, and recreational areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors as needed.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly.
• Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, and sanitizers.
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior property areas (e.g., sidewalks, parking lots, entrances).
• Assist with snow removal, de-icing walkways, and seasonal upkeep as needed.
• Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or supply needs to the supervisor.
• Ensure janitorial closets and equipment are kept clean and in good working order.
• Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
