TITLE: Janitor B

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Janitor B is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment within the plastics manufacturing facility, including production floor support. This position performs a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure the facility meets established hygiene standards and contributes to a positive and efficient work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous janitorial experience preferred, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper usage.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain STB (Safety Training Basic) certification.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in hallways, offices, break rooms, restrooms, and other designated areas.
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles, including recycling, and dispose of waste properly.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, chairs, and equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
  • Clean and sanitize break rooms, including countertops, appliances, and tables.
  • Clean office areas, including dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal.
  • Clean windows and glass surfaces. Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Follow all STB safety regulations.
  • Properly use and store cleaning chemicals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
