Adecco is assisting a waste management client recruiting for Organic Landfill Waste Sorter Jobs in Vero Beach, FL . These are temp-to-perm job opportunities. As an Organic Landfill Waste Sorter, you will be responsible to pick up nonorganic items and place in the trash. You will also be directing customers unload yard debris at the site. Pay $17.00 per hour. Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check. This job requires using personal protective equipment and this is a job that requires working outside and be able to work around noise and waste odor.
We have 2 shifts available
Option # 1: Sunday-Tuesday 7am-5pm & Weds 7am-12noon.
Option # 2: Weds 12noon-5pm & Thursday to Saturday 7am-5pm
Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist Heavy Equipment Operators with various tasks
• Ensure a neat and safe work environment
• Direct traffic at the working face
• Perform random load checks
• Communicate with the scale house on a regular basis
• May include general landscaping and/or weed eating
• Picking trash or sorting materials
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Education/License/Certifications
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• State issued, valid driver's license may be required
Knowledge & Experience
• One (1) year of previous relevant work experience, preferably in the compost or similar industry or landscaping or debris removal.
• Basic awareness of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations, and best practices
Skills & Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proactively establish trust and credibility with coworkers by maintaining accountability
• Contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support, and collaboration amongst coworkers
• Take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking
• Ability to be a team-player for overall company success.
Pay for this position is $17.00/hr.
