As a Civil Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc (CEC), you’ll work on civil and environmental engineering projects primarily associated with solid waste facilities. These projects involve engineering tasks such as airspace, excavation, and fill volume calculations; preparation, review and compilation of technical reports; data management; technical analysis of collected data; stormwater management system design; landfill grading; and leachate and landfill gas collection system design. You will also perform field work, including Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) of landfill cell and cap construction projects. Your time will be split between the office and field.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks for solid waste facilities, including airspace, excavation, and fill volume calculations.
• Prepare, review, and compile technical reports; manage data and analyze results.
• Design stormwater management systems; assist with landfill grading and leachate and landfill gas collection system design.
• Conduct field work and Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) of landfill cell and cap construction projects.
• Interact with CEC office and field staff, clients and contractors to support project goals.
• Contribute to the overall completion of landfill design, construction and certification projects. Time split between office and field as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to take direction and complete assigned tasks.
• E.I.T. certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, HydroCAD or other computer modeling software.
