As a Civil Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc (CEC), you'll work on civil and environmental engineering projects primarily associated with solid waste facilities. These projects involve engineering tasks such as airspace, excavation, and fill volume calculations; preparation, review and compilation of technical reports; data management; technical analysis of collected data; stormwater management system design; landfill grading; and leachate and landfill gas collection system design. You will also perform field work, including Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) of landfill cell and cap construction projects. You will interact with CEC office and field staff, clients and contractors. Your effort will be part of the overall completion of landfill design, construction and certification projects. Your time will be split between the office and field.
Responsibilities
- Assist with civil and environmental engineering tasks related to solid waste facilities, including calculations and design analysis.
- Prepare, review, and compile technical reports; manage data and perform technical analyses of collected information.
- Design aspects of stormwater management systems, landfill grading, leachate and landfill gas collection systems.
- Engage in field work and perform Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) activities for landfill projects.
- Collaborate with CEC staff, clients, and contractors to support project goals; contribute to team delivery of landfill design, construction, and certification tasks.
- Split time between office and field to support project execution.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field;
- E.I.T. certification; and
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing; ability to take direction and complete assigned tasks;
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, HydroCAD or other computer modeling software.
