CDL Recovery Technician - Recycling and Liquid Waste

Overview

This role involves transporting, removing, delivering, and collecting various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from customer sites. The technician will load and unload trucks and operate a variety of equipment including vacuum trucks and box trucks, depending on license qualifications.

Annual salary ranges from $58,000 to $64,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle cargo securely, prepare equipment, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Work with government documents such as manifests.
• Perform safety inspections on equipment and loads.
• Follow legislation related to transportation and safety.
• Operate trucks, check vehicle conditions, and report issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation and logs.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring loads are secure.
• Deliver products and paperwork courteously and timely.
• Clean up debris from loading/unloading.
• Provide feedback on operational issues.
• Train others as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• CDL B with airbrakes and a clean driving record.
• Tank endorsement required; hazmat preferred.
• Ability to drive manual transmissions.
• Mechanical aptitude for routine maintenance.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• High integrity and work ethic.
• Professional demeanor under stress.
• Ability to work outdoors and indoors.
• Must lift 75+ lbs.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.
