Overview
Adecco is assisting one of their top clients with their search to fill an Accounting Manager role in St. Petersburg, FL.
This Accounting Manager role is paying $78.03/hr.
Responsibilities
- Support various aspects of the accounting and reporting process.
- Assist in designing local adaptations related to SAP upgrade, data cleansing projects, and other necessary support to transition the team into S4.
- End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners.
- Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of deadlines.
- Understand internal control design concepts to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new effective processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.
- Execute judgment and ensure the right decisions are reached to accurately report financial results.
- Drive projects, provide accounting guidance and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues.
- Deal with ambiguity and reprioritize based on multiple business needs.
- Prioritize tasks while providing active coaching to a team of talented individuals.
- Ensure compliance with accounting norms and target accounting processes.
- Summarize the key accounting items monthly by entities/divisions.
- Support the organization of Audit requests (task assignments, follow up of the correct documentation to auditors).
- Supervise the accounts reconciliation for all countries/entities/divisions.
- Support continuous improvement of processes and work closely with the project management team.
Accounting Analytics
- Leverage accounting acumen to work with business leaders and process experts to identify risks and gaps through data analytics.
- Design and maintain dashboards to report team KPIs and metrics.
- Work with cross-functional groups on the design, development, testing, and maintenance of BI, Data Analytics and Data Science platforms such as SAP, Business Objects, Blackline, Power BI and related analytic data sources.
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to establish a strategic Data Management roadmap that enables improvement to accounting processes.
- Set standards for technology and business processes and manage to those standards.
- Influence agile teams to improve deadlines along with high-quality deliverables.
- Apply vision to complex technology and business initiatives.
- Work with multiple project teams to determine resources and estimate costs within a project or program.
- Support transversal tasks across different functions and divisions.
- Be accountable for General Ledger KPIs and performance dashboards for the divisions; prepare action plans with team members.
Management tasks
- Supervise monthly close process and ensure closing deadlines are met.
- Participate in closing meetings with divisions.
- Ensure continuous improvement and implementation of Group guidelines.
- Lead and motivate a diverse group of staff accountants and senior staff accountants.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree, preferably in Accounting.
- Current CPA license, preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in General Ledger accounting.
- 5 years of experience as a strong people leader with the ability to manage a large team supporting a hybrid organization.
- Strong knowledge of accounting rules, standards, and regulations.
- Knowledge of accounting processes and internal control principles.
- Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting and explaining results to CFOs and accounting counterparts.
- SAP experience preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, primarily advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced work environment.
- Consumer products company background preferred.
