Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the daily financial operations of the hotel. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of our financial data, supporting operational efficiency, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, payments, and comprehensive financial reporting—while also supporting audits, month-end close processes, and balance sheet reconciliations.

This is a hands-on position that collaborates closely with all hotel departments and a centralized accounting team, requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Operations & Reporting: Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with USALI and company policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Support the preparation of periodic forecasts and the annual budget.
  • Compile and analyze financial data to support business decisions and stakeholder reporting.
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with department heads to analyze financial performance and support cost control initiatives.
  • Assist with training and supervision of accounting team members, as applicable.
  • Work closely with a centralized accounting office and utilize systems such as HMS, Birchstreet, Unifocus, and Infor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous hotel accounting experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality accounting standards (USALI preferred).
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with hospitality systems such as HMS, Birchstreet, Unifocus, and Infor.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and collaboration with operational departments.
  • Familiarity with centralized accounting processes.
