Profile
We’re hiring an Accounting Manager to join our fast-growing, tech-focused Accounting and Financial Operations team. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic, scaling environment and enjoys a hands-on role in shaping accounting functions within the rapidly evolving digital assets sector. The Accounting Manager will support Talos’s daily operations and strategic finance agenda as we expand globally. Financial Operations at Talos covers the full scope of finance functions—from Treasury to Accounting to FP&A & more—and partners with teams across the business. This role will have broad exposure to technical accounting, financial reporting, tax, audits, and process optimization. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and collaborative, with a mindset that views accounting as a strategic partner to the business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and local statutory reporting requirements.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function and manage our outsourced provider.
- Research and apply technical accounting guidance, including ASC 606 (revenue recognition), ASC 350 (software development costs), and ASC 718 (share-based compensation).
- Collaborate with FP&A on financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Partner with external advisors on technical matters including tax returns and indirect tax compliance.
- Manage state, federal, and international tax filings in coordination with external firms.
- Lead activities of independent auditors and oversee audits across international jurisdictions.
- Propose and implement efficiency improvements in processes, systems, and internal controls.
- Produce periodic and ad hoc financial reporting.
- Support treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting.
Qualifications & Attributes
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- CPA required.
- 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience; mixture of public accounting/ industry experience preferred.
- Background in software/SaaS or financial services industries preferred.
- Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
- Familiarity with accounting and finance ERPs; Sage Intacct experience preferred.
- Experience with IFRS, COSO 2013 and SOX compliance preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

In New York City, the annual base compensation range is $130,000 - $170,000. This position is eligible for discretionary bonus.
