Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager with a minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial operations. This role requires a self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively, contributing significantly to our financial reporting and analysis. Will work within a small accounting team and may be responsible for mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform timely and accurate reconciliations of various accounts, including leases, vehicles, contra debt, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain and reconcile amortization schedules for leases and vehicles, including managing complexities related to intercompany billing and sublease billings.
  • Update and reconcile schedules for fixed assets (including running depreciation), prepaids, equity, and intangibles.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile clearing accounts and ensure accuracy in payroll-related entries.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including conducting variance analysis for the balance sheet at month-end.
  • Review and reconcile unearned revenue, ensuring proper revenue recognition.
  • Review and reconcile entries for Capital Expenditures.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to work in fast paced, changing environment with time constraints.
  • Able to successfully coach, mentor, and lead others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree, from an Accredited University, in accounting or finance is required.
  • 7+ years’ experience in accounting/finance.
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities and intercompany.
  • Experience with accounting ERP software packages is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is essential.
  • Construction Accounting (work in process, Percent complete, complete contracts) preferred.
