LHH - Fully Onsite in Dallas, TX

LHH is seeking an Accounting Manager for a landscape/construction services company in Dallas, TX. Reporting to the Controller, you’ll lead project-based revenue recognition and billing, oversee G&A accounting, and deliver accurate financial reporting while partnering with project managers and the Data/ERP team to uphold compliance, data integrity, and system effectiveness.

In addition to strong GAAP knowledge with percentage-of-completion revenue, the ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in Aspire or a comparable ERP, advanced Excel skills, proven project accounting background (ideally in construction/landscape or other project-based services), and excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities; if you would like to join a dynamic company with lots of room for growth and excellent work/life balance, apply today.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end and year-end close, preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and key reconciliations.
  • Partner with project managers and operations to ensure accurate coding, job costing, and financial tracking across projects.
  • Administer GAAP-compliant revenue recognition, including preparing and reviewing percentage-of-completion schedules.
  • Build and audit project billings in Aspire/ERP, confirming alignment with contract terms and change orders.
  • Oversee G&A accounting, including coding, processing, and reconciling payables and related allocations.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts—revenue, WIP, and other project-related balances—to maintain accurate financials.
  • Produce timely reporting and analyses that highlight project profitability, trends, and cash-flow insights for leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Data Team to optimize Aspire workflows, safeguard data accuracy, and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and support internal and external audit requests.
  • Identify and drive process improvements and control enhancements within ERP and accounting workflows.

Client Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CMA preferred.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience focused on GAAP revenue recognition and G&A accounting.
  • Proficiency with Aspire or modern ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Solid technical accounting foundation with hands-on project accounting; experience in landscape, construction, or project-based services is highly valued.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented problem solver with strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Clear, professional communicator who collaborates effectively across accounting, operations, and data/technology teams; high integrity with confidential information.
  • Experience supporting audits and formal financial reporting processes.
  • Ability to work on-site five days per week in Dallas.

Qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.
